1. Summary

2. Access logs

Like most websites, our web server records each request: IP address, date and time, the requested page or data path, the response status, the referring page and the browser’s user-agent string. Application logs on the server are kept on the same schedule. These logs are used only to operate the site, investigate faults and prevent abuse (for example rate limiting). They are kept for 14 days and then deleted, and they are not shared with anyone or combined with other data.

3. Your location

4. Storage in your browser

The map page remembers a few display settings in your browser’s local storage (base map choice for 2D and 3D, the arrival / departure filter and the number of routes shown). These settings never leave your device. You can clear them at any time by clearing the site data in your browser.

5. Third-party services your browser contacts

To show maps and run the page, your browser loads files directly from the services below. They receive your IP address and the usual request information (for map tiles, this includes which map area is being viewed), under their own privacy policies:

Weather (aviationweather.gov) and live aircraft (ADSB IQ) are fetched by our server, not by your browser, so those services do not receive your IP address from this site.
